Returning home from a 3-week Artist Residency in Basilicata region in the south of Italy, I am looking back on an amazing experience! Thanks to a heartwarming welcome, lots of practical help and the vision of the whole staff of Porta Coeli International Art Gallery I had the best Residency an artist could possibly imagine. Not only did the staff of Porta Coeli arrange a great opening and artist talk during my solo-exhibition in the gallery, they have done everything possible to facilitate my explorations of the Basilicata region - armed with my camera to capture its light. From the unseen inner city of Matera to the high peaks of the Lucanian Dolomites - I can surely say that I have fallen in love with Basilicata and its ever so friendly people. I can’t wait to get back!
